Takeo Suzuki is the Executive Director at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, as well as a Higher Education Administration concentration candidate at Northeastern University (2018).  He obtained his Master of Science in Global E-Learning from the Texas A&M University-Commerce, as well as a British Council Honors Scholarship in Business Information Technology at the University of Wales.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing and International Business from the Kobe University of Commerce in Japan, and is also a Vice President of the International Business Council at the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce (2016-Current), along with serving as a mentor in the NAFSA Diversity Impact Program (2015 – current).

He is a dedicated and accomplished administrative director with demonstrated leadership ability managing faculty, staff, students, and budgets.  He is a strong believer in international education and study abroad programs with 15 years of experience in American international education field.  He has demonstrated management leadership ability with faculty, staff, students, and budgets with proven experience providing strategic counsel and guidance to Chancellor and senior management teams.  He has visited 35+ countries for study abroad locations, international students’ recruitment and student and faculty exchange agreements.

His immediate priority is to set a globalization plan for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC), Globalization Vision 2020.” His research interest is to identify the challenges and issues that international students experience, and provide the suggestions to improve their social and academic life in the U.S.  In particular, my future research will investigate the learning, development, and positive perceptions among freshman international students through their first-year experience in the US.
