Lucas Olson is currently a research assistant and an MA Candidate in International Development at American University.  He has bachelor’s degrees in Economics and International Studies at University of Washington.

His research interests include the overlap between international education and development studies, especially in the Pacific Rim. Olson is also interested in global governance institutions and the changing role of the US in the 21st century. He has worked for the World Bank Group.  Prior to that, he spent several years in international education in the US, Central America, and China.

Olson is a member of the President of American University’s Graduate Student Council, and is also a Fulbright Canada Killam Fellow at University of Victoria.

He is currently working on master’s thesis on international education between the US and China.
